MY SKILLS
INTRODUCTION
The combination of software proficiency and hands-on fabrication experience allows me to bring a project from conception to reality with fluidity and precision. I am not just limited to designing in the digital space; I am equally capable of turning those digital models into tangible, functional products through fabrication techniques like 3D printing, laser cutting, woodworking, and ceramic modeling. This holistic skill set enables me to approach design with both creativity and practicality, ensuring that my designs are not only visually compelling but also manufacturable and usable in real-world applications.
These skills, coupled with my strong foundation in concept development, prototyping, and final production, empower me to contribute significantly to any design project, making me a versatile and dynamic product designer.
SOFTWARE SKILLS
I am proficient in a wide range of software tools that enable me to execute high-quality design projects across various platforms. My expertise spans across AutoCAD, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office 365, Canva, and more. Each of these tools plays a crucial role in my design process, allowing me to create detailed technical drawings, stunning visualizations, polished presentations, and professional marketing materials.
- AUTOCAD
As one of my core skills, I am highly proficient in AutoCAD, which I use for creating precise 2D and 3D technical drawings. My expertise in AutoCAD covers schematics, plans, layouts, and detailed mechanical drawings, which I have utilized in fields such as MEP design, construction, and product development. AutoCAD has been instrumental in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in my designs, enabling me to produce high-quality, standardized technical documents that are crucial for collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- LUMION
My proficiency in Lumion allows me to bring my 3D models to life with realistic rendering and visualization capabilities. I use Lumion to create stunning 3D renderings and animated walkthroughs that effectively communicate the look and feel of a design, whether it’s an architectural project or a product concept. The software helps me showcase lighting, textures, and environmental effects, turning my digital designs into immersive, photorealistic visuals. These visualizations have proven invaluable in presentations and client meetings, where they help stakeholders envision the final product.
- ADOBE CREATIVE SUITE, MICROSOFT OFFICE 365 & CANVA
I have extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro, which enhances their creative output. I use these tools for image editing, vector-based graphic design, brochure creation, and video editing. I am proficient in Microsoft Office 365, using tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for document creation, data analysis, presentations, and project management. I am also skilled in Canva, a user-friendly platform for creating quick and effective social media graphics, posters, banners, and presentations.
HANDS-ON SKILLS
In addition to my proficiency in various software tools, I have also developed a diverse set of hands-on skills that greatly enhance my capability as a designer. These skills include 3D printing, laser cutting, woodworking, ceramic modeling, and more. Each of these crafts has allowed me to bring my digital designs to life and gain a deeper understanding of materials and fabrication processes, which is essential for creating practical and innovative products.
- 3D PRINTING
Through my experience with 3D printing, I’ve learned to turn complex digital models into tangible objects. I became adept at preparing models for print by ensuring they are optimized for structural integrity and functionality. This skill allows me to quickly prototype ideas, testing form, fit, and function before moving forward with full-scale production. Working with different printing materials like PLA, ABS, and resin has given me insights into the strengths and limitations of each, enabling me to make informed choices depending on the product’s needs.
- LASER CUTTING
Laser cutting is another essential skill in my repertoire. I’ve used it for cutting and engraving various materials, including wood, acrylic, leather, and paper. This skill has been particularly useful for creating intricate designs, custom parts, and scaled models. By integrating laser cutting with my design process, I can achieve precise, high-quality results in a fraction of the time compared to traditional methods. I’ve utilized this technology for everything from creating architectural models to designing product packaging and decorative elements.
Information
- WOODWORKING
My experience with woodworking has helped me appreciate the beauty and versatility of wood as a material. I’ve designed and built various furniture pieces, prototypes, and custom components using woodworking tools and techniques. This skill has expanded my ability to explore more tactile and natural designs, understanding how to work with the grain, joint, and finish wood to achieve both functional and aesthetically pleasing results. Woodworking has also enhanced my problem-solving abilities when dealing with material limitations and durability requirements in physical products.
- CERAMIC MODELLING
Ceramic modeling has allowed me to delve into more organic forms and sculptural designs. Working with clay and ceramics has taught me patience and precision in shaping materials by hand. I’ve created various ceramic objects, from functional items like vases and bowls to decorative pieces and artistic models. This skill helps me explore forms that might be difficult to achieve through other methods, as well as better understand the potential for using ceramics in product design, especially in areas like home decor, tableware, and even industrial design where ceramics are valued for their durability and unique aesthetic.
