"Having a combination of digital and hands-on skills allows me to approach design from a well-rounded perspective. I can start with digital concepts using AutoCAD, Lumion, or Adobe Creative Suite, and then quickly transition into the physical realm by utilizing 3D printing, laser cutting, woodworking, or ceramic modeling to prototype and refine these ideas. This ability to move between the digital and physical worlds enables me to ensure that my designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and manufacturable.
These skills allow me to contribute more fully to every stage of the design process, from concept development and prototyping to final production, and they have been instrumental in making my design work both practical and innovative."

My Journey
I am Bright Poulose, a passionate product designer hailing from Thrissur, the cultural capital of Kerala, India. My journey into design began early in my childhood, where I spent countless hours drawing, creating clay models, and building with LEGOs. These creative explorations nurtured my artistic skills, and during my higher secondary education, I was awarded First Class at the state level for my accomplishments in art and craft.
After completing my higher secondary education, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering, where my affinity for design grew even further. I became deeply interested in subjects like engineering graphics and machine drawings, which provided me with a solid technical foundation. These courses sparked my curiosity in the intersection of engineering and design, opening new doors in my career journey.
My professional career began at Suzlon, a leading multinational company in renewable energy, where I worked as a service engineer. It was here that my project manager, noticing my keen interest in design, introduced me to AutoCAD. This introduction was transformative. Eager to enhance my skills, I enrolled in a course specialising in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) design, where I developed in-depth knowledge of both AutoCAD and Revit software. These new skills earned me certifications from Autodesk and the STED Council for draughting and design, laying a strong foundation for the next stage of my career.
I then took on the role of an AutoCAD technician at Rekha Electro Tech, where I was responsible for creating detailed CAD drawings such as schematics, layouts, plans, and elevations for various construction projects. During my time there, I continued to expand my expertise by exploring 3D design, which I found both challenging and exciting.
Driven by a desire to expand my skill set, I took up the role of Product Designer and Digital Marketing Executive at Excel Earthings, where I gained hands-on experience in the entire product design lifecycle—from concept development to the final, ready-to-use product. During this role, I honed my skills in 3D modelling and rendering by mastering Lumion and the Adobe Creative Suite, further enhancing my design capabilities.
While these roles provided valuable experience, I was eager for broader international exposure in CAD design. This led me to pursue an MA in Product Design at Sheffield Hallam University in the UK, where I gained advanced knowledge in design thinking, prototyping, and global product design trends. I successfully completed the course in January 2024, further solidifying my expertise in CAD design.
Today, I am actively seeking opportunities in the CAD and product design fields, eager to apply my diverse skill set and experience to create impactful, innovative designs on a global scale.

“Good design is actually a lot harder to notice than poor design, in part because good designs fit our needs so well that the design is invisible,”
